Yoko Oba completed her Master’s Degree at Tokyo university of the Arts. At the 67th Japan Music Competition, she took 1st prize, also winning the Yasuda Award.She has received numerous other awards as well, such as an honorable mention in the Composition Competition from the Japan Federation of Composers. She was nominated for the 22nd Akutagawa Composition Award in 2012. After participating in the Takefu International Music Festival, she was an international exchange composer for the Royaumont Seminar. “Creating spaces with music” is a theme on which she has produced various public performances.
In 2009, she began the “Fermentation Music Project” . The CD titled “A Lullaby for Sake” as well as “amané”, the Junmai Ginjo Music sake that was matured with her music, are now available.
